IE6 save dialog and IIS compression

I ran into a problem on a clients site that I thought was worth mentioning as it took some serious googling to resolve. Lesa Systems asked us to implement a system where users could login and download CAD drawings of some of their products. To protect the files so that they can only be downloaded when someone logs in we need to keep the CAD files out of the web root. This means we’re going to have to use a handler to grab the file and stream it back to the clients browser. All of this was relatively easy to implement and was tested on all the major browsers before go-live without any problems. Of course go live was a different matter!
